Be the Light

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. ~Matthew 5:16

When Sara passed away in 2011, I was determined to continue the legacy that she began…to share God’s message of Joy! As I have walked this journey, there have been blessings, challenges, uncertainty, and JOY. All of which have required a lot of trust and faith.

As I reflect on the journey, the piece that stands out to me the most is my own growth as a Christian. One of the last things Sara said to me before she passed away, was that she wanted people to continue to trust, believe and have Faith in God, as she had tried to be His disciple. But, she said, it’s not about me, it’s about Him. That was the message she wanted people to hear.

I think the above verse from Matthew speaks loud and clear to what Sara was saying. It’s not about us, but rather, what God can do through us! Although many of our life stories can be used as an example of His promises to us, they are not and cannot be the main focus, because it is not about us. Jesus used stories in His teaching and that is what our stories do too.

I am so excited about the upcoming Women of Faith “Be the Light” Event on September 6 and 7. The event is going to be a time of worship, as well as messages focused on building Spiritual Strength, Life Leadership and Real Relationships. By strengthening each of these strands with Him, our light will shine bright for others. They will see our good deeds and glorify Him!

I encourage you to check out the event and sign up today. Join us in being light in a dark world! You can learn more here.IMG_1677.JPG
