So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. ~Romans 12:1-2 MSG
My focus for prayer and reflection lately has been on God’s purpose for me. Through this reflection and prayer, I came across Romans 12:1-2.
In this verse, we are called to take our everyday, ordinary life and place it before Him as an offering. Any vocation is divine because God himself is divine!
Do you see the work you do as divine?
We are called to not fit into the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our mind. The Choose Conferences that Jill Miller and I conduct focus on how making Godly choices can transform our lives. When we fix our attention on God, we will be changed from the inside out and readily recognize what He wants from us.
It isn’t always easy, but life is not meant to be easy. It is through those times of struggle and prayer that we grow and learn.
I love the quote, “What you revere you reflect. Either to our ruin or our restoration.”
Where are your eyes fixed?
When our eyes are fixed on anything other than God, we become that which we reflect. Without God, this will lead to ruin. Restoration is the renewing of our mind to Him.
Fix your eyes on JESUS!
Love, Hugs, and Blessings.
