Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath to the Lord your God.
Genesis 2:3, says “God blessed the seventh day and made it holy.” God set the day apart from any other day and made it sacred.
Mark 2:27 tells us “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. God made man first and then He made the Sabbath a blessing to us. It is a day made for our benefit.
God knows the busyness of our lives and He wants us to take one day from the busyness and focus on Him. He felt so strongly about it that He also made it one of the 10 commandments.
How seriously do you take this commandment? We need to take it as seriously as we do the others…You shall not kill…You shall not steal…
When Sara was alive and I would talk with her about how she hears from God, she would tell me that the busyness for her was taken away. God was her focus all day. Through this focus, Sara became God’s messenger to of us. She often said that she saw her disease as a blessing because of what she gained through her relationship with God and all she was able to give to others.
I encourage each of us to Remember to keep Holy the Sabbath Day! Listen to this week’s Choose Chat as Jill and I discuss — Choose Sabbath.
Have a great week!
